HISTORY
Zenas was born in Ladylake. He grew up in a rather broken home—his parents never really interacted with him much, they'd fight with each other a lot, and when they did interact with him, they'd ridicule him. The constant ridiculing and neglect left him with a superiority complex to cope with his feelings of inferiority. He believes he was neglected due to his uselessness and failures. Even if he did well, it must've been a failure seeing as his parents would find something wrong with it.
As he grew up, he grew to love attention more and more. It's to the point where he gets depressed if he's not getting any attention at any given moment. He especially loves praise for attention. He doesn't deal with negative attention well, however. Criticism, rejection, you name it. It gets him all depressed and mopey. Positive attention however gets him all happy and giddy. His main motivation is praise, after all. Since praise is his main motivation, he can be easily manipulated. All he needs is to be praised for his actions, and he'll keep doing them. Until that praise stops. Then he'll come around to a levelheaded thought process.
He's had high resonance since a young age, and often played with a young malak around his age. The malak's name was Ureil, and he was his best friend for years. He always got weird looks about having an "imaginary friend" as he got older, but he never cared about that. He only cared about Ureil. Ureil eventually ended up moving in with him, when he was at around age thirteen. They lived together until Zenas became sixteen, then Ureil decided to go his own separate way. Ureil said his goodbyes, and Zenas begged him not to go. Ureil simply stayed a while and waited for him to fall asleep. Zenas woke up unsurprised. It was like him to do that. He knew he'd do that.
When he was seventeen, he had finally decided to head off on his own. His parents didn't care, in fact they liked the idea of having him gone. That was the only time he ever really got praised for something by his parents. It left him with a bittersweet feeling. After a year of travel, he came across his prime lord, [Name], and they joined up in travel together. He became a shepherd shortly after.
